Page 1 of 3 When I first got into internet marketing, I found a TON of products with all these ridiculous claims about how much money I could make if I just bought their program ("$300 a day!!!") or subscribed to their service. I was like you and I fell for their empty promises, and you know what I wound up with? A lighter wallet and a defeated attitude. So you can imagine my lack of enthusiasm when a friend of mine in the business recommended Keyword Elite to me. Let me tell you, my opinion was less than stellar.
The first thing that turned me off to Keyword Elite, and probably one of the biggest gripes I have with it is the price. Weighing in at a whopping $176, I told my friend that there was NO way that I'm paying that much for a program that can't possibly be as good as it claims to be. I've already wasted hundreds and hundreds of dollars on other programs and services that have claimed the same things that Keyword Elite does, and I didn't feel like getting suckered in yet again. ![]() Project 1 My first impression is, "Okay, big deal. I don't need a piece of software to create a keyword list, I need a piece of *paper*. But I already spent the money, so I figured I might as well give it a go. I type in a broad search category, and then I choose my settings for what search engines I'm going to be searching on and how many results I want returned, and then hit ok. Believe me when I tell you, I was severely disappointed and ready to get my friend on the phone. It returned keywords all right, but it returned complete nonsense along with it! For example, I typed in blog for the search and got back results like "video game" and "afghanistan blog dispatch from front in iraq line soldier war" - actual results! I was thinking I was just out almost $200! After I calmed down a bit, I took another look at the results page and saw they had all kinds of filters. So I decided to type in a few words to strip out of the results and was left with a more concise list that was more targeted but still rather sizeable. I continued to investigate and found a section with a bunch of buttons for adding, removing, renaming groups and managing ads. I had no idea what they were for, so I started playing around with them. It turns out that whole section is for creating Google AdWords ads *automatically*. I was actually impressed. That was definitely a time-saving feature. Not only that, but you can search existing AdWords ads by keyword and download them to use as a template. This was starting to get interesting. Still not worth the price I paid for it, though. I can do all of these things for free. |
