Page 2 of 3 I moved on to project 2 - analyze pay per click listings. I thought, "Okay, how good can this be?" I typed in a few keywords, chose the search engines I wanted to use and hit ok. ![]() Project 2 Keyword Elite returned a page that showed me how many pages have my keywords, and how many times my keywords have been searched for in the past month. Useful, I thought, but still, I can just search on Overture for that. Then I scrolled to the right and my eyes widened. It actually shows the range people are bidding for those keywords on AdWords, what position on Google they're ranking, and how many AdWords clicks they're getting! Now I was starting to get impressed! Not only that, but if you click on a keyword grouping, it will return the URLs for the top 10 ranks in all the search engines. And then if you click on the URL, it'll actually pull up the ad that's ranked there! I was definitely starting to like the program, but I still wasn't convinced it was worth that amount of money. Project 3 - search for keywords didn't impress me all that much. As handy as it was, it still didn't convince me that my money was well spent. Basically it's like project 1, but it utilizes it's built in database of keywords for your search. Don't get me wrong, the database is very robust at over 2 million words, but I just couldn't see spending that kind of money for that. I guess it would be a good starting point, though, if you were *completely* lost on ideas for what keywords you should be using. Then you can toss the results into project 1 and get a more refined list. Okay, so not valueless, but still, not a show stopper either. I was still skeptical at this point, but at least the program hadn't made me give up on it - yet. I moved on to project 4 - Analyze keyword competition. ![]() Project 4 This project seemed similar to project 2, but it's more tailored towards the content of the websites that have the keywords. So I set it to give me the top 5 results from Google and Overture and hit ok. Keyword Elite then showed me the monthly results for the searches on my keywords at the top and gave me a list of the top 5 websites for each keyword group on the bottom. Then it broke down those top 5 websites into different categories - page ranking, words, how many times the keywords showed up in the title tag, link tag, alt image tag, etc. It even shows you the keyword density of the page (that's how many total words on the page divided by how many times the keyword is used). The possibilities of this information are endless!
